Wash fish. Store in strainer.

Marinate with red pepper powder, yellow food coloring, garlic, oil, lemon juice, chaat masala, salt, white roaste cumin and yogurt for 30 minutes.

Cook marinated fish in a saucepan.

As fish is dried and fish is tender, tikka is ready.

Pour a few drops of oil on burning coal in the pan. Cover for 5 to 7 minutes.

Delicious fish tikka is ready. Serve with salad and raita.

Preparing a Fish Tikka

Ingredients:

  • Boneless Fish: 1/2 kg
  • Red Pepper Powder: 1 tsp
  • Chaat Masala: 1 tsp
  • Yogurt: 2 tbsp
  • Lemon Juice: 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Yellow Food Coloring: 1/4 tsp
  • White Roasted Cumin: 1 tsp
  • Crushed Garlic: 1 tsp
  • Salt: as per taste

Method

  1. Wash wish thoroughly and put in a strainer. Move to a bowl as water is drained out.
  2. Add all spices: red pepper, yellow food coloring, garlic, lemon juice, chaat masala, salt, white roasted cumin and yogurt. Mix well and place aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Cook marinated fish in a pan.
  4. As fish becomes dry, tikka is ready.
  5. Burn coal on stove and place inside the pan. Put a couple of oil drops on the coal and then cover the pan. This will infuse the coal scent.
  6. Delicious fish tikka is ready. Serve with salads and raita.
NOTE:
if you like, you can put chaat masala on ready tikka for more spiciness.
